An Arizona EMT is likely not laughing about his recent post on EMS Humor.
He's been placed on leave and is under investigation by American Medical Response (AMR) after sharing about a call on EMS Humor, a Facebook group, KVOA reported.
While the patient's name address were blacked out, the screenshot of the log included medical history, age and gender, the station reported.
The EMT also included a caption: "this week's winner of biggest b.s. call goes to."
The Northwest Fire District told reporters the EMT is not employed by the fire department, but AMR which handles EMS.
However, Assistant Chief Scott Hamblen said, "We do everything in our power to protect health information and show our patients and residents the upmost level of respect and care. We hold our members to a very high standard in that regard we also hold our contracted partners to the same standard.
AMR told reporters when they were made aware of the post, they asked him to remove it. In addition, he was placed on administrative leave as an investigation was started. "AMR takes this matter very seriously. It is a violation of our code of conduct to share any patient information," officials said in a statement to the media.
